A MESSAGE TO THE MUSICIAN
A popular musician in Ghana once said "there is no secular music"
There is only a secular message. How true is this statement?
Music is everything you can think of.
Music controls our world today. What you hear has the ability to influence your mood and your actions in the next minute.
I have been telling my friends "every musician is like Salt or Sugar"....These food condiments if not used well can have a devastating effect on our health.
A musician has the ability to change the mood of his potential listeners. That is why some people usually say "when I listen to this song I feel sad or I feel happy"...
In Africa, traditionally, music encompass everything we do especially life circle events: Check within your own cultural music and you will find countless number of good music that have specific context for its performance.  In popular music like highlife and hiplife, we find happiness in the tracks in some of the good ones and get consolations from some of them and extras from gospel music plus some of the International genres such as reggae, house, rhythm and beats, country, samba, soca and calypso etc.
Music is one of the powerful weapons that we can have.  Have you heard of  Fela Anikulapo, Majek Fasheek, Edna Ogholi, Sunny Okuson, Prince Nico Mbarga etc of Nigeria?  These are few of Nigerian top classic musicians whose music are played and enjoyed today. In Ghana, super classic names such as Atakora Manu, Kakaiku, Kwaa Manu, Onipa Nua, Rim Akandoh, F. Kenya, F. Micah, Dr. K. Gyasi, Akwasi Ampofo Adjei, Jewel Ackah, C.K.Mann, Paapa Yankson, Agya Koo Nimo and others are timeless musicians because of their lyrics and the good music they churned out.

Some few years ago,a teenager in the U.S shot someone with a gun. When he was interrogated, he told the police that his action was influenced by the songs he listens to...
Well, I know you will be wondering why Team Sunday Groove has posted Lord Kenya's picture.
This was a man who was tagged the "rap heavy weight champion" in the past.
According to him, he smoked wee and sniffed cocaine as part of his career as a hiplife artiste in Ghana.
He did most of the bad things one can ever think of. However, he was "arrested" by the power of God one day as he visited his regular wee base to get himself some "stuff"....he became BORN AGAIN.
Today, Lord Kenya is an Evangelist preaching all over Ghana and beyond.
Recently, Lord Kenya was asked whether he still enjoys royalty from his music. According to him, though the royalties come, he has rejected all....
Dear musician, there is one thing you should always remember 👉🏼" some things can never be changed"
You can't produce songs which promotes the works of the devil today and tell the world to stop listening to it tomorrow.
Be vey careful the excuses you give to support the songs you produce today.
Do you know how dangerous it is for just one soul to sin against God just because he or she was influenced by the content of your song?
Don't laugh over this. God does not play with His souls.
It may sound very okay to produce these songs but tomorrow, it may be too late to edit the content...
Produce songs that will draw people nigh to Christ.
Again, have you ever sat down to ask yourself why many "Secular musicians" change their music to gospel after they encounter Christ?
If everything was okay, why the sudden change?
The Akans will say, "ASEM SEBE"
